I have traveled extensively throughout the west – Arizona, Utah, New Mexico, Texas, Colorado, Montana, Wyoming, California. (I haven't been 'everywhere', but I have traveled to and scouted the most sought-after environments for pictures always keeping in mind they must work logistically as well as conceptually for production.) I spent much of one vacation traveling and scouting both sides, up and down the Mississippi River. Having grown up in Wisconsin, I have traveled extensively through and am most familiar with the heartlands of America, the Midwest. Also, having set for myself early-on in my career as a scout the assignment of finding what remains of historic Route 66, as I meander cross-country – a different route each summer, along state and county back-roads each trip – I am always making note of towns and places where the essence of 'Route 66' is still alive today, what a British client of mine likes to refer to as 'Americana'.
So, be it 'Marlboro Country' or 'like' whatever movie you care to reference; whether you are looking for 'the road that leads to nowhere' or a landscape that looks like the Serengeti plain or Syria – or another planet for that matter – let us establish what your mind's eye sees and I'll find precisely what you guys need for the brief you've been handed – more likely than not, provide your team with remarkable options you all have not even thought of yet! And at the end of your day you can come home to a good meal, a hot shower and a comfortable bed to toss in before we get up early the next day pre-dawn to begin again. Let's get started.
